Review: Summer House [Budget Eating]

image

Summer house is a beautiful place located near Hauz Khas Village. I have crossed that area a million times, without realizing this place existed!
It’s name is both apt and ironic, because it’s a beautiful place that reminds you of summer, but given the weather conditions of Delhi, one can only visit during colder days.
Their furniture seemed to be sponsored by Absolute, which made it fun to click pictures!
Once we were seated, we ordered 4 types of iced tea: Basil, Watermelon, Kiwi and Green Apple.

Their quantity was so much that we could only have half a glass each! They all tasted great, but my favorite was Basil.
For the main course, we ordered a Veg Shepherds pie and Fiery Chicken Sausage Pasta.

The pie was more like vegetables layered with mash, which I personally didn’t like. It was served with a little salad.

The pasta sure had a lot of chopped up sausage, but wasn’t fiery at all, sadly. The garlic bread we ordered with the pasta arrived much before and was hopelessly cold at the time we wanted to eat it.
For dessert, we ordered a Banoffee Pie and Tiramisu.

The Banoffee arrived first, but it had such a strong flavor of banana, that I couldn’t enjoy the toffee or the crumble!

The Tiramisu on the other hand, was heavenly. The slices of cake were generously soaked in alcohol and the coffee flavor was brilliant!

Total Bill: INR 2400 ( approx $39)
My Verdict: The entire experience was salvaged by the Tiramisu. I might visit again, but I’m not sure what I’ll order!
